Humphreys County Center for Higher Education Open House
Some 50 persons attended the Humphreys County Community Higher Education (HCCHE) Open House Friday, November 7. HCCHE was celebrating the opening of its new 10,000 square foot addition which includes offices, laboratories, PTEC shop and classrooms.Commissioner Matt Kisber flew in for the occasion. Asked why he attended,Kisber said, "I'm here to celebrate the opening of the new expansion of the Humphreys County location of Nashville State. This is about helping to support our existing industries with the skilled labor they need in creating new opportunities for young people.so they can pursue the jobs, not only here in Humphreys County, but in the region, and know that they can find jobs that will pay wages so they can raise families and have the kind of life that we all expect from the American dream." Jennie Stribling, Director of the Humphreys County Center for Higher Education, said she was"just overwhelmed" when she thought about thanking those who had helped with the addition. She began by expressing her appreciation to President Dr. George VanAllen, Nashville State Community College, as well as the faculty and staff. She also thanked the government of Humphreys County and its citizens for their support. She invited those present to tour the expansion, and to enjoy the food."Thank you very much for supporting us," Stribling said.
